• Make Gardening a Family Event

  Show them how much she loves gardening. Spend time in your garden. It is particularly easy to stimulate the interest of children when they play. Facilitate gardening. Do not expect a perfect garden. Allow your family to work at their own pace and in their attention span and age distribution, especially children. Dig it! Children love to dig. It is a great way to teach the basics, but leave fun and games.

  Let them play an active role in planning. Take your kids to the local nursery and let them choose seeds or transplants to start your garden. Take your time and allow them to see and appreciate all the beautiful plants. Plant a garden theme. This is a great way to let your children use their imagination and express their creativity. The sky is the limit. Some ideas are the gardens which coincide with the holidays, alphabet gardens, a theme garden to your favorite colors, a sensory garden where you can enjoy different smells, tastes, textures and sites, or garden “freedom” .

  Giving children their own “kid-size tools. It should not be expensive. You can go with an old spoon and a cube that is in the house or you can venture into the garden center and buy garden tools made from the reach of children. Give them a space of their own. It must be great. This will teach them responsibility and ownership, and their children will be able to take credit for their own space.

  Get the Craft! Press or dried flowers to make a beautiful setting, make potpourri, or make a button ball. Children love doing things and be amazed at the craft and gift that can be done by the garden. Grow a vegetable garden. Your children are amazed they can grow their own food. Make sure to use organic pesticides.

  It is used for gardening check your math to children and science. To count the seeds planted, or teach them how plants are living beings. Not only will you get their attention, you can hone your skills as you go. A contest. Children love to be rewarded. Make sure to give each child a reward, the largest tomato, the most beautiful flowers, herbs, or perhaps the best evidence (just Spray-N-Grow, Help!)

  Do not try to do everything! Choose some of these tips that you know is best for your family and have fun with them. After all, gardening is meant to be fun and easy. And with a little help, something the whole family can enjoy.
